Distressed Bermuda Shorts

Distressed denim shorts are everywhere for summer! The distressing adds a cool edge or a bit of sexiness to typical denim shorts. I find Bermuda shorts to be more sophisticated looking than your typical short denim cutoffs. Bermuda shorts are longer in length but still stop above the knee. When you add some distressing it makes for a cool contrast. The pair I am wearing are very destroyed in the front, depending on how much skin you want to show I would choose accordingly. I wore a bright flowy top to balance out the fitted taper of the shorts. I added a pair of high heeled sandals to make my legs look longer!

One of the most comfortable things  to wear on a hot summer day is an easy fitting sun dress. The traditional sundress is sleeveless with thinner straps and in a lightweight fabric. Typically loose fitting, it embodies a light airy feeling. Sundresses are very versatile, dress up for a not so formal occasion a with heels and accessories or keep it simple and causal with flats or sneakers. Old Navy has a good variety of casual sundresses for very affordable prices. This one I am wearing has a little structure to it so minimal undergarments are needed and it is currently on sale!

Adding a pop of color with a bright accessory is a great way to complete any summer look! Whether its a pair of colorful shoes, a bag, hat or jewelry it is easy to look summery. I love hats and I bought this gorgeous yellow floppy one from Old Navy the last time they offered 30% off in store. The skirt and top set came from Forever 21. This outfit is a pretty good quality for the price, but only the top is still available online. However, you might find it in your local store. Rear View

Making sure you look good from all angles is important when getting dressed, but of course how you look from the front view is most important. However, sometimes it is nice to have a special detail in the rear view. Express always has great clothing and these split back sleeveless tops come in some great colors! The front of the top is pretty basic but the split opening in back reveals a snippet of skin. I also love express shorts, they come in a variety of lengths and a lot of great colors and prints. Both the top and shorts make a colorful easy summer look and are currently on sale!

Relaxed Classic

 

Pleated midi skirts are a classic sophisticated look. I think they can be styled to fit just about any occasion. Wear one with a buttoned up top and pumps for a preppy look, or with sandals and a cropped top for a sexier look. I wanted to dress one down in a casual fun way. What better way than with a comfy cotton tank and a pair of sneakers? The skirt is from NY&CO and I found it to run one to two sizes smaller than their usual sizing. It caught my eye because of the lovely shade of pink and I am obsessed with midis not to mention it has pockets and is currently on sale!

Neons and Neutrals Pt 2

 

I wanted to follow up my previous post on wearing neon colors with another look. A great way to spice up a classic silhouette is in a neon shade. The dress I am wearing is a very simple style but the neon color makes it outstanding. A boring style is instantly exciting thanks to a fabulous neon shade! This dress is also from H&M, I took advantage of their recent 30% off sale! I wore light heels and minimal jewelery to keep this look simple and summery.
