DISTRESSED DENIM

Distressed denim is an ongoing trend that comes and goes in popularity. Lately it has gone from simply being faded and slightly torn to completely destroyed. I prefer my distressed denim with minimal holes but well faded with a few tears. Distressed jeans, to me, have a carefree, cool look. I like the look of them when they are dressed up with a nice top, or a blazer, or even just a pair of heels. The weather is still transitioning for spring and evenings are a little cool so I wore my jeans with a long sleeve striped top and a blazer for a sophisticated look. I cuffed the jeans to show off these great floral printed sandals I got from DSW! I am going to list all of the details below like I have done in my previous posts, but I am also going to list a flat shoe option. I enjoy wearing heels (mostly because they make my feel look smaller!) but one of my sisters asked me to give flat options for those like her who don't wear heels.

A NIGHT OUT: LBD & A STATEMENT SHOE

A little black dress should be a part of every woman's wardrobe. The silhouette should lend itself to various occasions depending on what it is worn with. This black dress flatters your figure and you feel comfortable, and confident in it. In my opinion black is a sophisticated, dynamic, and sexy shade. I have a closet full of black dresses for various occasions but I am always looking for new additions to my collection. The night life portion of my black dress collection is lacking. This short fitted long sleeved black dress at H&M caught my eye. I have long limbs so the sleeves are more like three quarter length on me! One of the things that attracted me was the snake skin looking pattern down the front. I also liked the contrast of the shorter hem with a long sleeve. The shoes I paired it with are a pair of high heeled gladiator sandals I found on clearance at Off Broadway shoes. I think they make a powerful, sexy statement, between the heel and the caged length up the leg. The classic pairing of black and tan balances the look. I am ready for a night on the town!

BLOOMS AND BRIGHTS

There is no  sure sign of spring fashion like floral prints and bright colors. Personally I love bright colors and floral prints year round just in darker shades for fall and winter. However there is  nothing like the soft floral patterns and eye popping colors that return every spring! Florals are made modern in a variety of trendy cuts and patterns. Whether it's a skirt, dress, top, pants or floral printed accessory adding a touch of blooms will jump start your spring wardrobe. I couldn't wait to wear this floral printed moto style jacket I found on Piperlime ( I got 30% off for signing up for their emails!). I decided to pair it with a bold colored skirt in a shorter full shape, and nude pumps just to keep my look from being too fussy! I topped it off with a pair of playful sunglasses I picked up for 6.99 at a local beauty supply store. I usually dress according to my mood, but sometimes when I wear something like this it makes me feel happy all day! :)

BLACK AND WHITE FOR SPRING

Black and white is a classic color pairing, easy to find and easy to wear. This pairing was prevalent on the runways for spring in a variety of textures, prints and shapes. Classic black and white clothing is great to keep in your closet to pair with trendier pieces. A pencil skirt is one of my favorite classic articles of clothing, and nothing pairs better with one than a great little cropped top. A cropped top that ends right at the waist really shows off the pencil silhouette and draws attention to your figure. I opted for a slightly shorter cropped top showing a bit of midriff for a sexier look. I adore this white faux leather pencil skirt I found at Forever 21 for only $17.80! The top I paired it with caught my eye because of the white details and the crisscrossed front. I also picked this top up from Forever 21 for only $17.90! I kept the accessories minimal wearing just a simple bracelet and earrings. The caged pumps are from Nine West last spring (they currently have a similar style) More spring trends to come! Thanks for reading!
