TWO FOR ONE

Matching top and bottom sets are everywhere! Two pieces for one great look! This solves the problem of finding a top to match your bottom or vise versa. These looks are fun and can be made your own with a great jacket or vest, or even adding a fun hat or some contrasting jewelry. I found this cute  skirt and top set at Belk department store for 40% off! Since I am obsessed with prints that's what jumped out at me first, and then the great color combo. I added the plum colored blazer from H&M ($19.95!) to make the outfit more sophisticated. My shoes are old peep toe pumps from Nine West, but I liked the mix of the stripes in similar colors to the print of the skirt and top.

Feeling Girly

Wearing pink makes me feel girly, especially this soft shade of pink. I am obsessed with midi skirts in all silhouettes. The A-lined midi shape looks classy and sophisticated on any figure. I have several colors and prints of this style skirt from Express. Unfortunately they are now almost completely sold out! I found a couple of options that were similar in shape and color to re-create this look. Black and white make this shade of pink pop, and the polka dots on my blazer and slingback shoes make it fun! I wanted to dress it down a bit so I threw a printed T-shirt from old Navy in the mix. I hope this fun look is inspirational, Happy Weekend!

A little red dress should be a closet staple along with a black one. Red is an attention grabbing color, it symbolizes confidence and excitement. It's the perfect color to stand out in a crowd. There are so many tones, and shades of red you may have to try a few to find the right ones for you. I chose a red with a hint of orange for a warm almost summer feel. I love a body conscious silhouette with a midi length. This bold color does not need much accessorizing. The key hole opening adds some interest to the top so I decided to skip a necklace and add a belt instead to accentuate my waist.  I did want to make it a springy look so I added my new favorite shoes, these Steve Madden floral sandals from DSW!

Matchy - Matchy, Short & Catchy

 

My love for floral prints caused me to be a little weak  in the knees when I saw this outfit! I may be slightly over coordinated but I could not resist pairing these matching floral prints together. The smaller size of the print on the top versus the larger print of the jacket and shorts lend a balance to this matchy-matchy look. Dressing a pair of shorts up with a light jacket or blazer is a great way to add sophistication to a comfortable spring/summer staple. Express had a 40% off sale and I was able to purchase these great high waisted shorts and matching moto jacket. My blouse is also from Express but a couple years old. These neutral laced up booties by Chinese Laundry complete my look!

FLOWERS AND BLACK LACE

Floral pants are on trend for spring, they are a little bit retro but very chic! Pants are a great way to rock this super girly print. I found a cute pair on sale at JCPenney, they just happen to have a comfy elastic waist band, and they even have pockets too! I wanted to let the print and colors of the pants stand out so I wore all black with them. The top also came from JCPenney, (it's on sale too!)and lace items are still trendy right now. Showing a little skin but wearing a camisole, bandeau, body suit or whatever is comfortable for you is a great way to wear lace without being too sexy. I also put a blazer with this look to lend some sophistication for different outings.

RED AND STRIPES

I know I have said before that I love prints, and floral is one of my favorites but stripes are a close second! I bought this cute little off the shoulder striped top in Forever 21 the other day (VIP 40%off 1 item!)and I wanted to wear it with a bright color to make it pop! I have this gorgeous red trumpet style dress from Express that I purchased to wear for Valentines day but never wore. It's fun and figure flattering with the pencil skirt silhouette and the fluted hem. I had the hardest time finding a skirt identical for this look so I've listed something similar as well! I completed the look with red patent leather pumps which are my favorite to wear because they remind me of a shiny new sports car! I also threw on a colorful necklace for fun! :)

MIXING SPRING TRENDS

Wearing white is more popular during the spring and summer seasons. This spring head to toe white is freshened up by mixing textures and shades of white, along with layering. I don't wear white very often because I tend to get it dirty every time, but I am giving it a try! Fringed items are also big this spring. It is a fresh way to update ordinary articles of clothing and accessories. Just one piece of fringe at a time is a great way to spruce up your look! Everything from shoes to bags, jackets, tops and skirts are being accented with a fringe! I paired a pleated white faux leather skirt that has perforated details, with a simple white lace accented cropped top under this incredible white fringed jacket. I love color so I completed the look with a pop of blue!
